The NBA has suspended Magic point guard Rafer Alston for Game 3 tomorrow night in Orlando after he smacked Celtics guard Eddie House in the head during Game 2 of their series last night at the TD Banknorth Garden. The altercation took place after a hoop by House with 48.6 seconds left in the third quarter. Alston claimed House threw an elbow his way and responded by hitting House in the head.
House scored a game-high 31 points as the Celtics evened the conference semifinal series at a game apiece.
The suspension is the second served by an Orlando player in this postseason. Center Dwight Howard sat out Game 6 of the Magic -76ers series after elbowing Phillys Samuel Dalembert in the head.
The Magic won that game, and the series, 4 games to 2.
