It has not gone unnoticed that Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace are cut from the same intense cloth. Certainly not to them.
"I don't think you can match the intensity that either one of us brings to the floor," said Wallace. Added Garnett, "I know how I play the game, and I look at Rasheed as a guy who goes after it the same way. I share his passion. I share his intensity. I'm just overly excited. You have no idea."
The two joked about the battles they'll be having in practice. Celtic workouts have already been loud affairs, and now they figure to get even more wild. But players are under no risk for technical fouls during those sessions, so it remains to be seen whether Wallace can keep his intensity in some measure of check during the real games.
Asked about keeping a lid on things, coach Doc Rivers smiled.
"I haven't controlled Kevin yet," the coach said. "So I'm not going to try. I'm not going to be out there trying to change anybody. I love their passion. I wish every player had their passion. I love it. I think it's going to help other guys on our team."
