--The Celtics are 16-2, which duplicates their start after 18 games from a year ago. They are on pace to win 74 games.
--The Celtics' winning streak is their longest since last season, when they put together a 10-game winning streak in late February-early March. "We're grinding them out," Paul Pierce said. "It's a tough schedule with all these back-to-back games, but it's going to pay us a favor late in the season when we don't have as many. ... Thank goodness we're getting it done in these games."
--CEO Wyc Grousbeck weighed in on the state of the Celtics, and as you would figure, it was all good.
"What has struck me the most is that the guys are focused in and bringing a lot of energy," Grousbeck said. "And they have to because everybody is coming after us so hard this year. I'm just amazed by how pumped teams are to play us and how badly they want to beat us."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I never think about my shots. That's the beauty of this team, the sacrifice each one of us makes. I never go into a game saying I need to get this many shots. As long as we get the win, that's all I really care about." -- F Paul Pierce.
