--The Celtics are now carrying 12 healthy bodies, with Glen Davis and Daniels out and Bill Walker playing for Maine in the D-League. There are no plans at present to bring Walker back. "I don't know yet," said coach Doc Rivers. "Let him play a little bit longer. J.R. (Giddens) right now is here, so we may use him some." Daniels brought the ball up and played either big guard or small forward.
"Tony (Allen) is a '2' really, but he's athletic enough that he can play both positions," Rivers said. "He's strong enough -- and he doesn't have a choice. We don't have another '3.'"
--Tony Allen, who played his first game of the season Tuesday, seemed relieved when told coach Doc Rivers planned to ease him back into action.
"I'm glad he did say that because I don't even know if I can play over 13 minutes," he said. "I don't know if my ankle could take 15 minutes right now at this point. But once I get the opportunity I'm going to go for it. And like I say, practice, practice, practice, practice, work, work, work, massage, massage and treatment. That's all I can do at this point. And get better."
Allen also dismissed any urgency for him with Daniels out.
"Marquis (doesn't have anything) to do with (any) sense of urgency about me," he said. "Like I say, the whole thing is about trying to win a championship. Whatever I can do to put it on the table and help for us to get a championship, that's what I'm trying to do. But Marquis being down (doesn't have anything) to do with me."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "It says that we can rebound." -- Coach Doc Rivers, on the Celtics' 11-0 board performance in the second quarter. Rebounding has been a big point of concern.
