--Lone Celtic draftee Lester Hudson (58th overall) suffered a setback at summer league in Orlando, breaking the ring finger on his left hand. Making it worse, Hudson had yet to sign a contract with the team.
"It's very tough because I want to show Danny (Ainge) and the coaches what I can do," Hudson said. "But I won't be out there to do it now. I think I can still play right now, but I have to sit back." Hudson suffered the injury when breaking a fall.
--The highlight of Rasheed Wallace's introductory press conference may have been the enthusiasm shown by Kevin Garnett regarding his own situation. Garnett had right knee surgery during the offseason and he reports he's ahead of schedule.
"If (the Celtic trainer) wasn't here, I'd run up and down the floor right now," he said.
"He looks great," Doc Rivers said. "It's good to see him walking normal again."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I'm not in the prediction business. I'll let (Muhammad) Ali, (Floyd) Mayweather and Patrick Ewing make those predictions. I think, the team that won it -- the Lakers, and in the East the Magic -- (are the favorites) until somebody proves differently." -- Doc Rivers, on his 2009-10 forecast.
