--Tony Allen suffered what the Celts are calling a "mild Achilles strain" and did not dress for Game 5. His status for the rest of the playoffs is also in question.
The injury occurred at Tuesday's practice when Allen was playing in a series of one-on-one games after the session. "That's a bummer," Allen said. "I mean, you try to get ready and ready, stay ready for games, and the only way to do that is to actually play one-on-one -- and conditioning and the regular lifting that we do. It's unfortunate that something like this would happen to me. It's crazy to me."
--It's clear to the Celtics that the Pistons have decided to come out hitting.
"The number of free throws was nice," said Doc Rivers of the 39 the Celts attempted in Game 4, "but they had the old Pat Riley rule: If you foul every single time, they're going to stop calling half of them. And that was pretty much true."
The Pistons were called for 30 fouls to Boston's 21 in Game 5.
